![]() Here is this morning's photo of the Canterbury backside. It was pretty quiet even though the racing season is only a week away. After saying hello to our owned horses which will race this year, I wanted to check up on all the Stormy Business sired horses to see how they have been training prior to arrival at Canterbury. Walking through the barns, I noticed several folks haven't yet arrived, which was a bit of a surprise considering we open next weekend. Nevertheless, it was nice to catch up with trainers Larry Donlin, Tony Rengstorf and Gary Scherer. They all felt their Stormy Business sired 2 and 3 year olds should have a pretty exciting season, and the 4 and 5 year olds from his first two crops should also do well. We look for two year olds, Samstar, Minnie Soda Nice, and PJ's Angel and Smart Business, who may be making his debut as a 3 year old the first weekend, to make a little noise in the younger restricted ranks. BJ's Angel, Sugar Business and Sue's Stormy should also have nice years, and we are looking for the same for some other horses like Clever Endeavor, who are with trainers I was not able to talk to today. Here's hoping all owners, jocks, trainers, their staff and the gate crew have a safe and successful season. See you there!
