![]() Friends and Family, with two more weekends of Minnesota racing, we will be sending most of our horses out for races before turning them out. Tonight Supremo Struckgold will run in the 7th race allowance. Saturday, Rapid Business will go and then next weekend we will likely see our two year olds and maybe BJ’s Angel. (BJ may be the only horse we send south for racing in the fall.) With only a couple wins so far this year, it’s been a pretty quiet 2014 but we expected it to be. The great majority of our stable are 2 year olds, and we are pretty careful about bringing the babies along slowly. We are in racing stable rebuilding years. We have done this in the past successfully, unlike the Timberwolves who seem to do this annually. Next year should likely be another development year since we currently have 3 yearlings (including the two we recently purchased) becoming two year olds. However we should get some real bang with the 4 three olds that will be running next year, along with BJ’s Angel who will turn 5. With all of this said, we are looking at 2016 as being a “mature” stable year. (Yes that’s the kind of lead time you must understand in breeding and racing unless you want to be a claiming owner.) If you are wondering why we planned around 2016, it’s because 2016 will likely be our last year of “real” racing in Minnesota. With daughter Sabrina graduating from High School next year, plus a giant pool, a 20 acre farm/barn with a three story 6000 square foot house, 6 acres of lawn and a 1000 foot drive of snow to clear in 10 degree weather, we think that’s a little much for just two people who can now collect social security. (If we were still as young as we once were in this picture, another 20 years in Minnesota would be great.) Anyway, come on out and enjoy the last two weeks of 2014 Minnesota racing if you get a chance.
