Astar Thoroughbreds Owned and Bred Horses Have Won Over 100 Races

Blazing Angel Winning the Oaks!
(August 2016)

Blazing Angel winning the prized Minnesota Oaks at 26 to 1 odds ranks as a favorite win. I included the pre-race paddock analysis since it was kind of fun to see how the "experts" ignored the only true route horse (pedigree and past performance) in a two turn race.

Though we were having fun with our daughter Sabrina in Florida at the time, our daughter Brianna and grandaughter Anastasia Jordan (AJ) were in the interview with our partner Tom Lindquist at the end of the video. Pretty cute we thought.

Ice Rocket wins the Northern Lights Futurity Stakes at 50 to 1!!!

This was one of the biggest longshots of all time in a Minnesota stakes race. Our Ice Rocket shocked 1000's at the Minnesota Festival of Champions. We partnered on Ice Rocket with Tom and Felicia Lindquist in our Astar Lindquist Stable. We also owned the 2nd horse in the race, Supreme Warrior, who went off at 21 to 1! Take a look at the payoffs at the end of the video and you'll know why we remember this as our biggest payday ever.

Both of our horses had earlier races to learn how to run, while the lower odds horses were seeing dirt in their faces for the first time. Another factor handicappers rarely understand about babies.

BJ's Angel winning her first race in a stakes race.

Though it was only a five horse field, this was still a nice surprise for us as BJ beat Kentucky and Iowa breds in this Minnesota Stallion Auction Stakes race. She was a m$126,000 plus winner and just retired. She will be bred to Sidney's Candy in Kentucky during the 2016 breeding season.

This race was an example of how "young" horses can improve from prior past performances. There are handicapping indicators that young horses are actually learning how to run. With a great pace judging jockey like Dean Butler aboard, and an easy inside route to the lead, she was a nice overlay in this race.

AJ's Angel Breaks his Maiden at Age 2.
(July 2016)

This recent win was pretty exciting considering the battle AJ's Angel faced throughout this race. Horses were pushing and shoving on him as soon as they got out of the gate, and he ran the race four wide throughout! Nevertheless our Stormy Business and Demiparfait baby has his parent's heart, and isn't afraid to fight for position.

Little grandaughter Anastasia Jordan, "AJ", may get a kick out of watching this debut race someday soon.

Blue Dancer winning his last race at age 8 in his classic style.

People drive by our farm in Hastings and ask me about the old Thoroughbred in our East pasture, and the white goat "El Fuego" that's always by his side. Well here is good old Blue Dancer showing his heart by winning his 8th career race many years ago.

This is an example of how pace can make the race when several horses battle for the early lead, allowing a known closer like Blue Dancer to steal a race. He loved the turf in his old age, as many older horses.

Some Of Our Favorite Horses and a Few of Their Races

We have had many favorite horses over the years but here are just a few random videos of Ice Rocket, Supreme Warrior, Silver Senorita, Astar For Dina (PJ's Angel's Dam), Timetobook and Sasha's Fierce.

We hope you enjoy them.
